Dr Maduna earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from MEDUNSA in 1994. She began her clinical journey with internship training at Hillbrow Hospital. It was here that her passion for internal medicine took root, shaping her path toward specialisation in the field.
Over the following years, she worked in multiple hospitals across Gauteng, developing broad-based expertise in general medicine, emergency care, and patient management. This included serving as a Medical Officer in the Internal Medicine Departments at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH), one of the largest tertiary hospitals in the Southern Hemisphere, where she managed both inpatient and outpatient care, conducted ward rounds, and supervised students.
For more than ten years, Dr Maduna was a general practitioner in the Vaal area with her practice located at Sharpeville whilst also supporting Kopanong Hospital as a sessional doctor.
Dr Maduna went on to complete her registrar training in internal medicine at CHBAH. During this time, she also completed her Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine through Wits and successfully passed the Fellowship of the College of Physicians (FCP SA) examination. She was subsequently appointed a Specialist Physician at CHBAH, where she continued to be involved in clinical care and the training of junior doctors. She went on to undertake fellowship training in critical care medicine at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Throughout her career, Dr Maduna has demonstrated a consistent commitment to high standards of care and a collaborative approach to medicine. Her interests include complex case management, multidisciplinary teamwork, and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice.
She is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and is a member of the College of Physicians. Now practising at Mediclinic Emfuleni, she continues to apply her clinical knowledge and experience to serve both the local community and patients from the surrounding Vaal Triangle.
